How do I know if something is more abrasive than scratch x? I have some scratches, but I think they are too deep for scratch X. I havne't seen many meguir's pro line stuff over the counter at stores here, so I am stuck between scratch x and turtle wax rubbing compound.

If the scratch catches your fingernail, it is too deep for anything.

If you are working by hand, ScratchX is as good as it gets. Just make sure you actually work it into the scratch and not just wipe it on like wax.
