    Removing Silicone Adhesive

    Hey everyone,

I recently removed some fender flares that were installed on my car prior to me buying it. They came off pretty easy but they were put on using some silicone adhesive and now there is all sorts of residue left on the quarter panel.

Anyone know what I can use to remove the silicon without ruining the paint underneath? I'd rather not have to pay a body shop to do it for me.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

You should be able to find a name brand tar/adhesive remover at any auto parts store. You will need to rewax the area when you finish.

I doubt it silicon. Silicon really isn't an adhesive. It's probably silicone.

here's what i used to remove the adhesive for my emblems when i removed it off my car... just try to get as much of it off by hand.. then use a clay bar.. then a strong polish.. and of course rewax
