Removing hood guard sticker?

    My car has one of those clear stickers across the bottom of the hood, maybe 6 inches high. I'd like to take it off before I do my pre-summer shine up. I can probably just peel it right off, but what can I use to take off residue.

    Stoner's tar and adhesive remover would work.

    WD-40 would work fine too, don't know about any adverse effect on paint. I would imagine if you wash off the solvent immediately after, you'd be fine.
