can I just drag it to the trash or there's something special with the apps that were installed on the computer when I go it?
I don't use it/probably never will so want to make some room

do a search in Spotlight for Garageband, and drag every folder that says garageband into the trash FTW.

or download a program called "appzapper" - you drag the app file to it, and it removes any other garbage associated with it.
