I'm wanting to swap the stock out on my Remington 870, and its being a pain in the ass. I took off the pad easily, but I've nearly stripped the bolt holding the stock on (and yes, I'm using an appropriately sized screwdrive, its just that tight). I've tried praying WD-40 and tapping it with a hammer, but neither has made any difference. Is there any way I can get the stock off without damaging it or an I doomed to have the stock stock on there until the end of time?

take a torch to it, set to low. Let the wood burn, or synthetic melt. WIN.

Also, you may need to get a new receiver after this.
