We are looking for a program so we can turn on our computers via wake on LAN. So computers can get windows updates from our server, and then shutdown automatically. We can wake them up but the problem is shuting then down again. Any ideas?

At my work we use Tivoli to do our pushes, and I believe it utilizes the wake on LAN feature. I believe it does have a time limit for the queued pushes.

Shutting them down is easy, you can use shutdown.exe, tsshutdn.exe, WMI, or any number of third party utilities. Doing it at the correct time is what's tricky. I think SMS has the ability to shut down a system after a push (but don't quote me on that).
