Is there a way to remotely terminate a program through HTTP?
I want to be able to log on to my page, and shut down a service that is being run on the server. I am using Cintel Orion Server, but can learn Apache if absolutely necessary, and i don't want to even attempt to fool with PCAnywhere or RDP.
I just want to know if there is a way to write a script that terminates a program, and if I can make the server run it from a remote location using normal Port 80 communications.

I realize it has to be set-up on the server first, it's under my feet right now, so access isn't a problem.

I don't know about programming languages though, but i can learn.

can i do that through port 80?
My problem is, that the remote machines aren't mine, and i'm just trying to access a tool like Sandra or Winamp or WinRar from my home server for the client, but i'm only running DSL w/128KBits up and DC++ tends to try to use all of it, so DL's from remote machines are really slow. So I was gonna see if there was a way to kill DC++ from a remote location through port 80. As a matter of fact, I know one of the locations has every port except 80 blocked.
