Any recommendations on a IR remote on BH or Ebay? There are a ton of cheap ones on Ebay but I'm not sure which are good.

I got a $4 one on DealExtreme for my XT. It works like a charm. I don't see any need to spend more on the genuine one.

that's the one. it's got a clip that goes onto the neck strap if you want. I lost mine a few times before I started using it.

Mine does that too, it's called blub mode.

For $4.37 you can't go wrong. Shipping is free, takes a couple of weeks, but you'll get it.

I bought the Canon remote. Works nicely though I wish it would work without line of sight.

The instructions say nothing about the 'hit the button to open shutter, hit button to close shutter' feature that I read about. Anyone know how it's done?

if you can, you should avoid IR. Line of sight can really be an issue sometimes.

well unfortunately the cheap requirement sort of only leaves you w/ IR.

IR can be alright, but sometimes it can be annoying as fuck.

Set the shutter manually on the camera past 30", it should say bulb. Then you operate it as stated.
