Ok heres my situation, I'm wanting to setup my linux computer to stay at my parents house and be able to control it remotly from my xp machine at my house. So far everything I have found has pushed me towards RealVNC for this but I want to make sure im not overlooking a better option. The release im using btw is ubuntu.

I've use SSH and Hummingbird Exceed v7.0. Not as easy to set up as RealVNC but it's secure and works well.
