So, I'm wanting to buy a shotgun and I don't exactly have a lot of money right now so I was thinking of getting a Remmington 870. I hear they've been around for a looong time and I was just trying to get some input on the gun.

First shotgun I've owned -- can't complain a bit about it.

I have a very interesting 870 on order. It isn't your usual 870.... Stay tuned.

Nope, not a Marine Magnum. Its a custom made gun so it is highly doubtful anyone here will guess it. I'll post when it arrives at the end of this month.

End of this month? Dammmm, what are they walking it over to you?

kidding, looking forward to pics of it. Admittingly, those are two words I don't hear too often "cutom" "870". Why not just get a 1100 customed?

I am not sure the word "custom" is the correct word. Let me put it this way. Not everyone has one like the one I am getting.... Sure some people do, but not many...

what does it have for $289?

I got mine for $299 with 18" barrel, bead sights, mag extension tube, sling mounts, 3pt sling, synthetic stock.

    I added a Surefire M69 foregrip.

Check first. If it's just a 870 Express then I'd say $250 tops.

For $299 you should have no troubles getting an Express Magnum w/mag tube extension, 18" barrel, and a few accessories.

What type of store is that price from? I'd rather buy from a smaller gun shop (thats where I shop) instead of Cabela's or similar.

buy where the price is right. For me, that happens to generally be a smaller shop because they thend to work deals for me and my gun-buddies... But when I saw my M&P-15 for less at Sportsmans Warehouse -- that's where I went.
