what do you guys think of the remington 700 sps? I want a nice bolt gun with that "tacticool" feel to it. I really like the rem 700 police, but its a bit out of a my price range.

I was in Bi-Mart today and was looking at the remington 700 sps. They had the 223 model in stock for $519 and I asked if they could get the 308 model, she said it would only be $483. I didnt think it was too bad of a deal.

What have you guys heard? does anyone have one?:x:

I like the fact that it has a black synthetic stock and the stock is oversized at the front (like the police model). I cant remember if it has the thick bull barrel like the police though. Anyone know?

Hmm I wonder if Bi-Mart can order Savage rifles? I see the 10fp is available with a 20" barrel in 308, I like that. Does the 10fp have a bull barrel?

there are SPS Varmint and Tactical models that may be closer to what you're looking for since you can't afford the PSS. That stock isn't a beavertail, it's essentially just a sporter model.

So I went to Bi-Mart, they can order the 10FP for $585. Is that a pretty good deal?

Does anyone have any high res/quality pics of the 10FP?

Yeah I really like the Rem Tactical, but Bi-Mart cant get that one :o, they can get the savage 10FP though....

I really really do like that Houge Over molded stock, and that is standard on the Rem SPS tactical. Maybe I 'll check my local gun stores I have a feeling they are going to be charging more though :hs:.

I'm planning to pick up an SPS Tactical this fall. They get good reviews.

Not as good as the PSS I sold though :(

either way you wont go too wrong..
I am bias towards the remington but I also think the SPS is theperfect platform! its pretty easy to sell or if you want to upgrade it, its very upgradable!

probably the fact that they're not harris.

mine works perfectly fine. i bought it for my 93r17 but i sold that so i stuck it on the 10fp til i get a 6-9 harris. this gun is going to be a deer gun anyway so the bipod won't be on it except when i go shoot paper

My dad has a 700 SPS in 30-06. Great hunting rifle. It doesn't group as well as my .308, but it is good for a basic bolt action.

The only thing I see you gaining buying a Savage, is the easily-adjustable acu-trigger. However, the 700 triggers have more adjustments stock, and while they don't give you a tool like Savage does, I think a hex wrench and blue loctite will work. You should read up on adjusting the 700 triggers, it's pretty easy.

The new Remington X Mark Pro are safer and easier to adjust than any previous triggers, they're supposed to be pretty nice.
