You are missing price, type/model of scope, as well as specific type of 700 (they made more than a few that fit that description).

My new 700 in .308 w/ scope, rings, mount, etc (all new) ran us probably $1500. I guess it really depends on the scope.

If it's the hogue synthetic stock, run far far away. It's floppy.

For $750, sounds like most of the accessories are shit.

I'd try and get the guy to sell you just the rifle, and maybe the Harris. Skip all that other shit.

This is the email i got back from him. Just looking for a beginners bolt action.

remington 700 heavy barrel 23" the only model number is see is LD22 it has a synthetic stock w rubber buttpad, additionally the harris swivel bipod, scope rings, and bsa scope, as well as shoulder stock sleeve, case and ammo the bolt is also jeweled bolt which was installed the gun runs flawless and is already sighted in excellent condition

LD22 sounds like a serial number or something.

Pics would help. The part about the jeweled bolt makes no sense. Remington jeweled bolt's for lots of their factory rifles. You DO NOT want a rifle that has just randomly had another bolt put in there without fitting/checking headspace. That shit could/would be about dangerous.

Regardless, figure the rings/scope/"shoulder stock sleeve"/case and maybe the ammo (depending on what it is) is worthless to you. I'd try to get a picture of the setup, and go for just getting a price on the bare rifle.

  11. Looks like the 700P model. That stock looks like the HS piece. No idea on the scope though.

    That's a 700 VS (Varmint Synthetic).

Price is *meh*, especially if you add that all the "extras" are of throw-away quality. You could try to flip them, but you would probably do better finding local sellers, as the BSA + rings won't bring much on the 'net. That rifle also came factory with a jeweled bolt, so I dunno wtf he is talking about there. Those generally aren't worth any more over a plain bolt.

Personally, I'd consider looking for a used SPS-V, or see if he will break up the package and sell you just the gun.

  13. Is that not the HS stock? Or did the VS come with the same stock as the P models?

VS came with a more/less same HS stock. Cheaper to boot ;)
