the way i look at it, if you can't shoot at a paper target next to a guy in a controlled range environment, what's going to happen if you get into a gun fight with innocents around?

I would have refused to fire with someone down range.

Looking at some of the gun handling that did not look like an advanced class.

Exactly, there is no stress or adrenaline dump to fuck with your accuracy.

that and, technically, none of the four rules were broken. :o

I agree. There is NO reason IMO to take more risks then nessesary in a training environment. We train, so that if we screw up, it's hopefully somewhere where there won't be consequences, and we can learn from our mistakes.

Also, what is up with the "full Sabrina?" after action drill? Watch Charlie's Angels too much?

More interesting to me than the pictures, is that link to the "James Yeager is Scum" website:

    http://yeagerisscum.tripod.com/index.html

Seems another one of the hallowed-be-thy-name tactical guys is full of shit. Surprise surprise.

I tend to take obviously one sided websites with a grain of salt.

I've never trained with or spoken with Yeager so I have no reason to lean one way or the other but one website isn't going to steer me, that's for sure.

This kind of reminds me of a story one of the guys at my LGS was telling me the other day. He was stationed in Japan (US Navy) back in the 80s and he said that the Japanese military gun range used people to go out and physically hold targets for them to shoot at from 100+ yards :eek3:

I don't know how the hell they got people to do that shit....

Yeah, i remember when that scandal first broke.

IIRC, Yeager apologized for his behavior afterwards, and his reputation aside from the "i left the BMW in neutral" incident is otherwise intact.

Every training school's philoshopy is different. TR's training philosophy seems to be more street fighting/whatever works oriented... kind of like a smarter version of Gabe Suarez.

VTAC/Magpul and other seem to be a lot more focused on fundamentals.

You would be amazed at what we see during courses of fire.
