Well at the range today one of the guys/companies who sold him the linked ammo for the gun was there. He was talking to me about what happened. It was a ge mini gun that uses elec to turn the mini gun. Well aparently it jammed. Since it was belt fed he was infront of it trying to tell his people how to unjam it. Well this mini gun whether turned by electric motor or by hand will fire. They were rotating the barrels by hand, and apprently it came to a chamber that have a live round and he was standing infront of it and it went off and hit him in the head.

Everyone knows that whether a mini gun is on or off whe you spin the barrels/assembly it still functions.

    . :hs:

It definetely makes sense, but not something obvious to me. Seeing as how I've never seen a minigun outside of youtube videos.

The guy was not new to firearms. It is terrible for his family, but there were some serious firearm rules violations going on with that minigun.

Wow... it amazes me when people make such incredibly dangerous judgement errors. :uh:

The guy that died was a firearms INSTRUCTOR. You do not have to know the inner workings of miniguns to know the basic rules of firearms. They were violated, and it served as a very strong, and disturbing lesson for those who witnessed it.

If you have a gun and don't know that you shouldn't be in front of the barrel, sell the gun.

what I was thinking. I didn't know that about a mini-gun, but I still would know not be on the business end of it, especially while there is live ammo in it.
