are there any modern games like it?

i used to love playing the game with a flight stick on the computer.

it was one of the few games i actually beat as a kid without cheating.

Liked the setting and general idea of the game. Pity about the controls. I remember reviews trying to rationalize the funky controls as showing how hard it is to control a helicopter but that was BS. If they had half the smoothness of control that Colony Wars did G Police could have been a popular franchise.

Still an interesting game, just annoying that it was such a pain in the ass to pull off what should be basic moves.

There was another game that came out on the PS1 that had a somewhat similar idea you might like. You were a cop in the future and could use either a car, motorcycle, or hover craft. Not nearly as much atmosphere as GPolice but a fun game. I'll try to remember what the hell it was called later.

I played with a flight stick on the computer, so I didn't have any control issues at all. I remember it as being a piece of cake.

    Future Cop? :hsugh:

But seriously yeah those controls were hard as FUCK in the game. My neighbor and I would both control it. One person controls flying and the other controlled weapons:rofl:

no, not futurecop. It wasn't an isometric shooter, it had viewpoints similar to a racer: cockpit, close behind, and far behind.

Edit: it was called crime killer

however, looking it up it's probably bot something you'd like. While it has a flyer in it it's still stuck to the rules of the car and bike: it can't fly anywhere, just on the roads.

Evidently there was a sequel to GPolice that came out in 99, try that.
