  2. The things you mentioned + calipers, cartridge gauge if you want, I'm sure there's more to think of too...

Hours to adjust the fucking thing and patience by the metric fuckton?

The primer feed on the pro 1000 is not what most would call "good", the powder dispenser is troublesome, and they require an immense amount of time to get running.

Actually, I have both of those.

I like the automation, but it's between that and a Lee 50th Anniversary kit.

Have you looked at the lee classic turret? It seems like for many people it runs smoother than their progressive.

You're also going to want a case trimmer for your rifle rounds, a chamfer/deburr tool, a primer pocket reamer if you're doing crimped brass, case lube, a bullet puller never hurts...

Hmm. So, this plus case trimmer and dies for whatever caliber?

I' use the lee case trimmer on a drill and its okay but I think the setup to move toward would be:
    http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productNumber=143728
    and
    http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct/?productnumber=127743
driven by a drill press on a low speed in this
    http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productNumber=295771

assuming you have a drill press, take your pile of brass and do it in stages

Oh you'll probably want something to seperate your tumbled brass from the media. If you're dropping $100, I'd get the turret or go progressive, single stage is for suckers.

  10. If you're reloading crimped .223 brass you'll need a way to decap it. You can use a decapping die, but it can be harsh on the die. Also, you'll need a way to remove the crimp. You'll have to either ream the primer pocket or swage it.

If it's anything like their holster backorder, no thanks. Put an order in February, ship date kept changing to a week ahead.

No clue, never waited on backorder at midway. Check out natchez too, lots of stuff there is usually cheaper anyway.

I use a pro1000 for 45 auto. Not a bad press but I prime off the press. The priming system leaves a lot to be desired.

 That looks highly ineffective, despite it being cool as all get out.

  21. I bet that tone generator and amp cost a lot more than a tumbler.
