Are they reliable? I've generally heard that Nissan's are not too good mechanically, etc.

my friend has a 2006 G35 sedan and his passenger door jammed. So you couldn’t open the door from the inside, had to have someone let you out.
Took it to the dealer and they fixed it.

:ugh: that shouldnt happen to a 30k luxury car

can't wait till they redesigned the while nissan/infiniti lineup with M35/45 standards

G35 has the VQ35 in it.. the engine is rock solid.. they had some fit and finish problems in 03, but the newer models are very good.
Just small inside for a Sedan

my pops owns an 04 coupe, and we're a hardcore nissan family...

the vq35 is almost indestructable. you will never have to worry about anything motor-related... he's had zero problems with his, and i haven't heard of many problems with them. every car has a few quirks during the first year or two of production, but no big deal.

I'd love to get a VQ powered car, but the G35 and 350 are out of my price range and unfortunately everything else on the car just looks and feels cheap on the Maxima and Altima.

Never heard or seen of that.

In my 03.5 G35 Sedan with 85000 miles I have no engine/tranny issues.

As for interior rattles and squeaks......that's a WHOLE nother story, probably doesn't help that I have a JL Audio 10w6v2 in the trunk :)

my 03 g sedan has 69000 on the clock now, the only thing thats gone wrong with it is the fucking in dash changer fucks up i think im on my 3rd cd played in a year. Motor wise, good but i think a pulley bearing is going out. Transmission makes a funny noise on rare occasion. interior.....squeaks alot, but i have a 1000d and 2 12 in alpines in a ported box, so that doesnt help at all. Id reccomend it if you have the money to buy a new car when the warrentee is up. Good cars but for the cost, it seems like they arent built the best. Just my .02

you have to pay $40k+ for a "real" luxury car these days.....

25-30k used to be entry level luxury, now it's like 30-35k

features and specs on sub-30k cars are getting better and better but the quality is no better than a 20k car

I've owned four Nissans (one being my 04 G35) and they've been the most reliable cars I've owned. Ironically my Integra GS-R was the most unreliable car I ever owned.

all the nissans we have owned have by far been the most reliable, with acuras just behind them. the early 90's were good times for nissan. now....im not so sure.
