MIL reenlisting from active to NG

    reenlistment question

    i am looking at maybe reenlisting from Active Duty to NG to be with my family, anyone know how the process works?

    well if your enlistment is up...you just go to reserve recruiter and he'll do up the paperwork for you so the day after you AD enlistment is up you are transferred to the NG. Then you just report to your unit within 30days of ETS.

    This is what I did when I came off of AD. I just had to be at the next drill weekend, which happened to be 12 days later.

    is that the only way is to wait until ETS then goto recruiter again? i was hoping that i could maybe goto the reenlistment rep and do all that so i can continue without any hitches and head home within a couple months of coming back from Iraq where I am right now. I will have a year left AD when i return and was hoping it was possible. dont wanna go talk to the rep now though because i dont wanna hear how i need to continue AD
