I am looking to invest in a redundant power supply system, but have only found systems that "buzz" when a power supply fails, but this setup would be in a rack where there won't really have anyone next to it to hear it, when it happens.. My question is, has anyone seen a setup where there was maybe a API involved, where it could trigger /anything/ to get the attention of someone outside the room.. IE a email, or something of the sort

The Dell Open Manage tools have that feature, you can email on power fluctuation , CPU temp, fan failure, etc. If Dell can do it I'm sure others can too . . .
