I know its recomended for pre/post workout if lifting weight because of protein synthesis blah blah blah. But is the same hold true if doing cardio only (30-45) mins?

Talking about protein drinks ofcourse :squint:

Yeah, I go far as drinking it myself for the last 9 months. If you're not at competition level, dairy is fine.

I don't think so. I have heard people use it before, unless they were always trolling. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the insulin spike + protein + whatever.

I could be 100% wrong though.

You also haven't worked out for 3 of those months :mamoru:

Down a protein shake with water and forget about it. Not rocket surgery bro.

Hijacking this thread because it's the first one in my search field close to my question.

What kind of protein do you need to eat/drink after a workout? do you have to have a protein shake/bar? Can you just eat a few boiled eggs? What is the purpose of protein after a workout (resistance and cardio)?

I can't afford protein bars and all the drinks you have to either buy a massive tub (with no smaller size to try) or $5 for a popper.

    Boiled eggs are easy

Food is food. Not like your body goes "omg this is whey protein isolate, lets use it to repair muscle tissue" or "oh hey look, some egg whites, clearly they don't need this for tissue repair, lets go make some fats cells"

Just get your protein, doesnt matter where it comes from. Have a shake, have a steak, eat a small kitten, doesnt really matter.

That was my thought, but I am no fitness yoda. Plus I don't see people do anything other than protein shake or bar. Boiled egg is cheaper and easier and I have never seen someone do it

protein is cheap as hell. i buy a dozen eggs for 1.80. eat 6 egg whites a day thats 90 cents for about 20g protein. one 30 dollar jug of protein will contain like 80 servings for ~25 g of protein.

I understand that, but I have to buy the powder before I have any idea how it tastes. They don't sell them in tester sizes

For most it's a matter of convenience. And some people are pussies and complain about eating.
