I want to record a football game but I don't have DVR or a computer enabled to record... Is the only way to do this the old school way of using a VCR?

    Any other suggestions?

I hate not having a DVR... fml

BTW, I don't know where the crap this thread is actually supposed to go. I just want real answers, hence not being in the main forum...

Get a SlingBox, or get a TV Tuner card that plugs into an available PCI slots in your computer. If you have a laptop, you can pay more for one that plugs into the expansion slot. MAKE SURE IT HAS AN ATSC tuner.

They made DVD recorders with built in TV tuners that allow you to record live TV.

Not as user friendly as something like a Tivo or DVR, but would do what you need it to do and only cost about $100.
