Can anyone recommend some good running shoes. There is so many, and i just want some peoples opinion on what works for them. I have been running in some nike shoxs, and my lower back, ankles and calfs, and knee hurt after about 10 minutes of running. This used to not happen..and when it started to hurt..it just made me quit running all together..and now i feel like i want to be a bit more healthy and want to get to running again but not with all that pain

    thanks guys!

It's best to go to a good running shop and get your shoes there.

I run in reebok classics... the soles are made so that the heel is pretty tall and it gets progressively shorter as you go towards the front of the foot... makes it really easy on the knees... if you have a sensitive arch I reccomend getting some inserts, but other than that they're great shoes for running... Also get the nylon ones, they air out so well you feel like the top of your feet are bare. Great shoes all around and they're only 30-40 dollaz.

If you have these problems normally and they aren't just because of the shox then I'd see an orthopedist to get some reccomendations... if you want to give these shoes a try though go for it.

you need to read the article posted above, then diagnose yourself to see whether what kind of gait cycle you have, overpronator, supinator, or relatively normal, and the level of your arch. I recommend seeking out someone who can accurately evaluate your running habits and then find you a shoe based on your needs. Nike and Adidas have a few decent models but they are so few and far between you are going to want to stay away from those brands, Reebok too. You need to find a shoe that is created for runners in the Asics, Mizuno, Brooks type realm and that can correct or minimize any idiosyncracies you have in your gait. Also, you can really fuck yourself up if you get the wrong shoes, like by getting a pair of Nike Shox and put a lot of mileage on them, running shoes should be replaced every 3 months or 300 miles.
