Yes, I am for the most part.

Right now there is no budget, though I don't want to go all out. A nice setup is all I'm really looking for. Certainly no more than $1000.

Just seeing what you all recommend most..

    Mybad...

CD Player for sure; Probaly a 12" sub; Everything else is up in the air. I don't fully understand speaker placement and such, but I would appreciate it if you all could fill me in.

I just want overall good sound quality. Only looks I care for are in the CD unit.

    Thanks

I think that your better off just going to Wal-Mart and asking them what you want cause your replies are a little vague! So like Axilrod said go buy all these items::o !

    RoadGear CD Players
    Power Acoustik Amps
    Road Gear Mids and Highs
    Road Gear Accessories and cables
    JL Audio W7 Subs

Personally I'd get a somewhat nice CD player, a component set up front, an amp for that comp set, 1 or 2 subs and an amp for those sub(s). Well since you're staying cheap I'll suggest the following
    CD Player: Pioneer (my favorite)
Front Components: Crystal CPe, Infinity Reference, DEI Studio, Infinity Kappa
2 channel component amp: Autotek, JBL, Hifonics, Orion Cobalt
Subs: Image Dynamics IDQ, Infinity Perfect, Eclipse Aluminium (maybe a little much), JL W3
Sub amp: JBL, JBL or maybe JBL

I'm not sure what you want me to give you?

Is it that hard to give good brands for a CD Player, a sub, amp, and speakers? I will get into details later on my own, but I simply want something to look at first.

    cd deck : Alpine midline
but i'd probably go with a mid end pioneer. around 300 bux or so

sub : 12" Image Dynamics IDQ sub.
amp : US Acoustics or autotek pretty good value subs
components/coax : infinity or whatever you listen to that sounds good. with infinity coax you can't go wrong. depends how much you want to spend.

$1000 is not very much to work with when you are talking car audio. That said my advice is shop around and get the best deck you can afford (alpine or pioneer) and the best component set you can afford (Focal, Dyns, etc.) Just remember that this shit is very addictive and you WILL want to upgrade, so do it right the first time.

edit: :squint: you took your price limit out...is this still the price you have to work with.

    I didn't take out the '$1000'... ?

Anyway, that price is not really what I have. I just wanted to say something. Right now it could easily be more, and it probaly will be. Thanks for all the replies..

Also, has anyone heard anything good about Panasonic CD decks? I go for them for just about all home electronics, but I was just checking out there site and saw they have some decent units. Just wondering what I could expect from them?
