researching content mangement software for use on corporate intranet, I have found a few that seemed sort of what I need. One i found that really stuck out in my mind as a great solution is http://www.ektron.com. Seems like it would have everything I would need, the only feature i am interested in that i have yet to find anyone offer is integration with Exchange server.

any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks for any help

Oh man. Wish I had access to my old work machine.

Actually, I think I backed up my bookmarks file before I left.

I researched this for months last year for my former employer.

There were a few good solutions, but it depends on your budget. I was part of the team responsible for building the company's first Intranet and they didn't want to spend too much on it out of the gates because they weren't sure who widely it would be used. Now it's a a huge mess of files and folders that have to be naviagted to update anything and the guys still there probably would love it if they didn't have to mess with it.

What's your budget and how many content owners do you anticaipate having?

no budget was specified yet, not saying i don't have a budget but its more into the proposal stage right now. Researching multiple solutions in this stage. if you could get me those links or would like to share any of that knowledge on what should be done not what looks best on paper. I am all ears!!! been reading up like crazy on the subject and the variety of software that is out there.

    approximately 100 users and growing.
ideas were to split intranet into departments with access levels pending on the type of user. for instance a 1st level tech does not need all the resources of a system admin.

a big key to the site would be a section to help the techs would be an interactive troubleshooting guide.

    thanks for your help!

its free, written in VB using ASP .NET. I am not sure of any modules that work directly with Exchange as of now, but being as that is a huge enterprise product someone is probably working on one.

Some addons for DNN can be found at www.snowcovered.com

also make some posts on the www.asp.net forums and see if what you want to do can be done with DNN, the people there pretty much wrote it.
