    depends on what you like...

If you like something with a bit of woodiness or spice, I like Soul by Hugo Boss or Touch by Burberry.

On the fresher side there's any of the Lacoste fragrances. I've got Style in Play and Essential myself. Reaction by Kenneth Cole seems to be popular, but a bit too airy for my liking. Energise by Hugo Boss is also nice.

If you like citrus, Issey Miyake is the way to go.

On the musky side you could go with some of the 212's from Carolina Herrera. I prefer 212 On Ice to the regular version.

A bit more on the traditional side, Ralph Lauren Romance Silver is sophisticated but a universally likeable scent. I bought it for my dad for Father's Day.

Also check out the following: Paul Smith, Z by Ermenegildo Zegna and believe it or not...Estee Lauder Beyond Paradise for Men.

Stay away from the following: Acqua Di Gio, Cool Water, Polo Sport and Eternity, lest you be labeled dated and unoriginal.

I also heard some good things about the new Prada for men.

I am personally a fan of Joop! It's one of the only colognes I will wear.

yes and no. Companies like CK tend to release limited edition variations of their colognes during summer that have a lighter more citrusy smell. However, that's not to say that you can't wear something like Issey Miyake year-round. It's really up to you.
