I haven't been following anime in such a long time apart from Naruto Shippuuden and I really want to get back into it.

BUT, I only can be bothered watching stuff that is really really good.
Like Cowboy Bebop or Ghost in the Shell quality.

The reason I stopped watching anime before was because there were too many MEH ones and I lost interest after awhile.

Here's the list of ones I've already seen and think are amazing

    http://myanimelist.net/animelist/ssj_jaypee

Generally anything that is either incredibly funny, deep or amazing. Though a combination of all 3 is definitely what I'm after.

    THANK YOU!

This guy knows his anime. Out of those five you should look into Kenshin OVA. First time I watched that I was seriously :noes::eek3::bowdown::wtc:, right in that order.

A group of earthlings that disrobe random elves to find a bunch of tattoos. It's funny as hell, and unlike damn near anything else.

A sake-loving female samurai that travels the land. More humorous than anything else, and there are some hilarious episodes in the mix.

The only serious one of the three. The sole survivor of a hidden demon race wanders to the doorstep of the main character. The anime is based on a long-standing manga. You see a rather plain Japanese boy become a badass in the process.

If you want comedy, I really recommend Gintama.

It NEVER gets any love. It's not your typical anime where you have to watch EVERY single episode to understand the over all story. You can jump in any episode you want and you won't be confused. Each episode contains it's own little story/problem and it is wonderfully written. There's parodies of other popular Shonen Jump mangas as well as paradodies from shows in Japan that appear in episodes. It's really great. Also, although it may be comedy based, it also has it's fair share of serious moments with awesome fights. There's mini arcs where it gets serious and the best thing about it is that they only last about five episodes. If you're going to give it a shot, skip the first episode (which is an hour long) because it is filler. Start from episode 2/3 (I say three because sites that stream it make the hour long episode count as 2).

    You won't be disappointed.
