I want some versatile leather shoes that I can wear and wear out (I love worn leather). I got a pair of leather shoes now (some GBX brand shoes) that I bought 9 years ago, still wear them regularly this til day, the leathers all soft and worn, I love it but it's time to get a new pair.

Anyway, recommend away. I will be wearing it with my jeans.

What's going on the top block?

I.E. if it's for the summer, and jeans a t-shirt/polo shirt, I'd say topsiders. If it's an un-tucked, or even tucked in oxford shirt, maybe some leather driving mocs (slip ons). If it's for an oxford and tie or blazer, some lace-ups?

Also what's the fit of your jeans? Don't want to wear loafers with a boot cut, and don't want to wear boots if they're super slim.

Rubber dainite sole great for multi-surface and weather conditions and gaining traction against your bloody face in the even that I have to stomp your head against the curb for not buying them.

top would probably be a casual dress shirt untucked.

My jeans that I most normally wear are APC Rescues.

Those are brown nubuck leather; It's been on my to-buy list for a longass time...I just placed an order for the brown suede version but the factory is out of my size so it will be 4 - 5 weeks before it comes in ($260 online, though might be another 5 to 8 bucks on top if amex charges a foreign currency conversion fee)

$260 is a great price, I always imagined C&J's to be much more expensive. im probably thinking of their cordovan shoes or something

I am with you here. Those are great looking but I wouldn't like to wear them with pretty much all but the dressiest (very dark, straight, no funny shit going on) jeans.

For more casual, I like venetian loafers in the brown shades. I also love a pair of top grain driving loafers with subtle metal bits...but you should not be walking in those. Also I don't own them but you can consider thicker soles with deeper treads like those classic Gucci or Ferragamo loafers, for a more casual look.

Jeans also look fantastic with good suede. Quality chukkas and drivers, again, are my preference.

Unfortunately I am not a fan of that Steve Madden look. The funny shape doesn't do it for me.

retail varies between $450-$575 for benchgrade, $725-$850 for handgrade, and low $1000's for made-to-order

you can pick them up online for much less though obviously

benchgrades usually low $300's and handgrades low $400's
