    Hey guys,

I'm looking at picking up a 12 gauge shotgun specifically for Trap/Skeet/Sporting Clays.

    My budget is about $1800

What do you guys recommend? I already have a Benelli Super Black Eagle II for my hunting needs.

I'm mainly looking for a few specific guns to look at next time I head to the local gun shop.

    Thanks! :)

I really like the Beretta Silver Pigeon, but a 600 yildiz will do the same job. :dunno:

    Love my Silver Pigeon.

If I was looking for a trap only gun, I'd try to find a Browning Recoilless. But good luck finding one for <$1800.

Ruger Red Labels are nice, but not sure on price.

Red Labels are in his price range. The thing I love about them is that the break is so sweet from the factory.

Browning Cynergy> Citori > Silver Pigeon > Red Label

I've shot at least 500 rounds through each of those.

My first 12 guage when I was 13 was a Red Label.

So do you have any experience with them and were able to form an opinion or what ?

While according to you I'm "an idiot" based on what I shoot, yours apparently turned you into a dick. Good luck with that.

    To the OP, good luck.

Well, when I was 17 I was a world ranked Jr. Sporting Clays shooter and shot an S12 during a 3-gun that had a sporting clays trailer and I can tell you that it was shit. Wrong balance, no swing, terrible ergonomics for movement. It's a tactical shotgun and is made for tactical uses. A Citori, 391 Urika, Silver Pigeon, etc are made for sporting purposes and perform like sporting guns.

Just so were clear. You handled one once. Based off that experience you now feel compelled to refer to anyone who would suggest the use of one an idiot ? Your parents must be proud.

If they are such a poor choice you might want to tell all the guys that are using them and using them well in 3Gun and other comps. I'm sure they missed the memo ! lol

3 gun is nothing like sporting clays you dipshit. Having shot sporting clays/skeet/trap for 12 years and 3 gun for about 3 years now, I use COMPLETELY different shotguns for the 2. Especially if you have a converted S12, the pistol grip kills the ergonomics of swinging and so on and so forth.

I call you an idiot for using it for sporting clays because a fart of mine has more knowledge of the sport than you do.

Edit: Just to clear things up, when I shot an S12 it was when a 3-Gun I shot had a 5 stand sporting clays trailer as one of the stages. They turned down the tension on the throwers so that the clays would be slower and wouldn't go as far so using tactical shotguns would work. The magazine and the way the gun is built just completely throws off the balance for swinging.

your mom should have spit you out you stupid fuck.

The guy asked about a recommendation for a gun that could shoot trap/skeet/ sporting clays but your inbred retarded ass fails at reading comprehension.

The S12 can do all of that and well. Maybe you should learn to shoot better. You are full of shit about having to slow the clays down because of the gun. In case you missed it, learn to shoot better.

Go eat a bowl of rusty razor blade you sorry fawk

was that what you were wanting ? lol fuck off

This Tcustoms guy is a stupid fuck. Of course they turned down the spring tension for sporting clays at a 3gun. Many sporting clays shots are out of range of an open cylinder before you can even get the gun on your shoulder.

Of course this guy is probably so good that he starts with the gun on his shoulder like a fucking noob with his little tactical shotgun while everyone at the range laughs at his dumbass.

Let me know when you shoot a 151 at Elk Creek then you can talk shit.

:rofl: out of 400? 150's is top 20 in the U.S. for A class (192 was the highest score at the 2009 US Open). But of course if I shot a Saiga there I am sure I would break perfect.
