I will be buying a new car soon and will be updating the sound system. I don't really know anything but I did read the EDU

Anyways I will be buying a head unit first. Looking to spend between 100-150 for this.

For the bass I was looking at
    http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=3318
It might be shitty but I don't know.
If it is a shitty piece please tell me a better quality for the money
I would rather have no rattle/better quality sound then super loud music

I was also looking at this amp

For the speakers I haven't found anything sticking out.

Any help would be great :big grin:

    I'd do the exact opposite.

What are the main places I should be sound deadening?

Depends how serious you are. My entire car is covered, minus the front fenders.
I used 120 sq. ft. of Dynamat Extreme.

I'd recommend you start with the trunk lid (3-4 layers) and trunk floor. It's hell putting that shit on. RAAMaudio is good people and his mat is pretty easy to work with and relatively cheap.

The Ti Elites are no joke, they sound fantastic and will get LOUD. But they're pretty damned inefficient... I wouldn't recommend you running it sealed with less than 800watts, which would probably tax your stock alt pretty hard.

Hmm... Haven't seen any of their new stuff, but every product in the Ti line is exceptional.

As far as sound deadening this is my formula:

get a matting like dynamat extreme, raamat BXT, whatever, the shit with aluminum on it

use that to cover all metallic sheet metal in your car, strip the entire car interior to do this, make sure you have a roller and a good comfortable razor

then I take a liquid insulator and cover any remaining surfaces that cannot be reached by the standard matting.

Then I will use something like tacmat, a standard foam barrier that helps absorb sound, second skin audio's is called overkill pro i believe.

Then in order to really get things going I'll drop in something like second skin lux liner on the area behind the pedals all the way down the floors. This will help kill your road noise and add more absorption to your car.

At this point I generally call it good enough, I don't need 500 pounds of insulation in my car.

When I don't like a brand I tend to not like the whole brand :dunno:

That's insane that they're that shitty now. Regardless, PG built some the finest amps period for a long time. The Ti line is really nice stuff. Those subs used to sell for more than w7's.

QFT! I'd personally prefer they go back to the M/MS/MPS series again. Those were my favorite amps of all time.
