So looks like I may need to buy a pit bike since most of my friends are getting into trail riding pretty big.

Can anyone recommend me a Pit bike? I'd prefer to stay with one of the Jap brands, but I am open minded enough to look at the other brands as well.

I'd like to stay around the 100-150cc range.

I bought one of these and I really like it. $1200cdn shipped.

My rims showed up pink though :greddy:

Sure, it's not a Honda. But it's a fraction the cost and it has paid for itself in enjoyment in just one summer. I shopped around for brand name bikes and couldn't anything that didn't resemble a toy for less than $7000.

It's basically an old Honda engine and it runs like a champ. It's fairly powerful, but not enough to get into much trouble. There are quite a bit of replacement parts available.

I know that guy only ships to Canada, but I have seen other versions.

If you're going to be doing any real trail riding just find a good used XR250.

Any of the Jap bikes in your size range are good. Go with whichever one you get the best deal on.

The MSRPs are all listed on their respective manufacturers' websites.

    KLX 110

CRF150R - possibly most fun pit bike you could buy but it's way too much

Old XR 50 is super cheap

Half the bikes aren't even pitbikes, they are mini mx bikes.

Yeah most people wouldn't consider spending more than what a decent used XR 250 costs to function as a simple "pit bike." On the same token I'd never consider a full sized bike a "pit bike"

    :dunno:

I wouldn't consider a pit bike for trail riding.

    A pit bike is something like a XR/CRF 50.
