was looking at the Sony Handycam DCR-SR42 and really liked it, but it's lacking some features I'm looking for. I am looking for a camera that has built in HDD (unless you can tell me why I shouldn't, I hear that for editing, having an internal HDD sucks? help?), but also that has some kind of night vision/low light setting and also has a wind filter.... anyone know of a good camera for a decent price (willing to spend as high as $600) that fits that stats? thanks for any help :)

JVC has one with a built-in HDD. It's been around for years; I think it was the first one that had an HDD in it. That says something about its design that it's still a sellable product years after introduction.

I'd stay away from anything with the Sony name on it; they tend to be too proprietary for my taste.
