Im currently using WS_FTP, and Im looking for something better. I need to be able to connect to several FTP servers at once, and have many local folders open.

I tried Cute ftp and it sucks too.

As far as I can see, I cant connect to multiple servers at the same time, nor have several local locations opened.

you can drag from explorer windows to the ftp site, so in that regard you can have multiple local folders open.

I can have multiple instances open to connect to multiple sites at once.

Hmm yeah, Im looking for something thats an all in 1 solution. I need to connect to 5-6 servers at the same time, with a different local folder for each one.

I've used SmartFTP and I like it. The features says it supports multiple connections but I haven't messed with that feature. Perhaps this will work for ya.

Looks good! I just hope its faster than WS_FTP, which crawls for some reason, even though it uses only 5mb of memory, the performance is terrible.

Well now that you mention speed, I did have some issues with that but I was uploading a large file using my cable connection and it's choked down for uploads. Not sure if it was SmartFTP or the cable connection that made it slow.

I use to use smartftp... but ti would always hang up on me... I've since switched to using fireftp (firefox plugin) and it's worked great... don't know about connecting to multiple servers though, I've never tried.

Just like mail clients, every single FTP client I've ever tried has major limitations and they're all found wanting.

When I get around to writing my own FTP client that works the way I want my clients to work, I'll get back to you +D
