I want to seriously get back in the gym for bulking up. What's a good routine for the 3 consecutive days work out?

My buddy has a pretty cool 3 day routine:

    day 1: bicep day +cardio
    day 2: bicep day +crunches
    day 3: bicep day +cardio

Rinse and repeat. I'm not even kidding, he's such a dumb ass and wont listen to anything I say, and he has nothing to show for it after a year of working out.

Why are those three days the only days you can lift?

I work 12 hrs a day Mon-Thurs w/ weird hours so I doubt I can squeeze in going to the gym on those days. I'm off on Fri, Sat, and Sun so it would be much better than me.

it's not a good setup, imo.

It's all in how you schedule it. If you can fit in even *one* lifting session on your M-Th days, and do say, Tues-Fri-Sunday, that would be far better. I've made it to the gym even when working 2 jobs, it can take some planning but it's doable. All depends on how much you want it.

I wasn't commenting on 3 days in a row; I was commenting on 3 days in a row, then 4 days off; which doesn't sound optimal to me at all.

Agreed but it could be if you lift heavy as fuck all three days to where you're still feeling it when you start back up...but unless you're dedicated and have a workout partner that could probably be pretty hard to do. I just do Tues/Weds/Thurs/Fri mornings after I get off work at 12:30am and then sometimes Saturdays.

    I'm thinking of the standard
    Fri: Leg + shoulder
    Sat: Back + Bicep
    Sun: Chest + Tricep

Would that not work doing consecutively? What are the negatives?
