Looking to build my first rig here after xmas. I can't decide what case to get. I want something quiet but efficient. Also I'm more into the traditional look rather than fancy designs. I will have 2 HD's 1 being a Raptor.

I found these two but the Lian li case sounds like it has some rattle issues and tends to be loud. And the Cooler Master case is an awesome value but I am not completely sold on the looks and I am not sure how it will work out having the PS on the bottem. Any input?

I know it seems counterintuitive to have a psu on the bottom like that since heat rises.
But the majority of heat from the psu is exhausted through the rear of the case, so there's nothing to worry about

And the 120mm fan in front of the drive cage is the best way to go.

Which makes the $40 rebate just icing on the cake.

I really really love the looks and design of the lian li but all the rattling reviews just worries me. It is in my bedroom and trying to sleep with that thing rattling away would probably drive me insane. Anyone have this model?

cooler master centurion 5. Awesome case. less expensive than that coolermaster you posted but better in so many ways. No front lighted fan. Aluminum front rails instead of plastic. Front ports are on the front where you can use them as opposed to the top where they can have problems.

Looked at that one but don't want an 80mm in the front.

Think I am going for the SILVERSTONE Kublai Series KL02B-W Black for around $125. Seems well built, I like the layout of the case. Thanks for your input!

I don't even have that fan pluged in because it isn't needed with as much airflow as there is in the case.

I'd go with an Antec 900.

That's a fairly compact case for an atx board. Some of the comments in Newegg are about the sata connectors of an Abit P35 board being in a bad place for that case,
as well as it being hard to put a big graphics card in there.

Not a big fan of cases with covered drives in the front.

good point. I'm just so leery of getting a pos case. I bought one awhile back and it was nothing like I expected. It was loud, had poor air flow. It was horrible. Then again it was a cheaper case.

I hear ya. I have used three other antecs (and several more on builds for family/friends) but the last case I got right before the p182 was a thermaltake case. It wasn't cheap either. I think it was ~130. Now, I'm not saying it was a POS but the p182 blows it away in everything except for weight. The p182 is pretty damn heavy when it's full of hardware. But I really don't move the box once it's built anyway.

Either way, I keep the door open on mine 90% of the time. It double-hinged so it folds back parrallel to the side of the case and stays out of the way.
