    Like the thread title states, I'm looking for a knife for camping or survival. I don't want to break the bank but I don't want to sacrifice quality. So what do you guys suggest?

    do you just need a blade or are you looking for one with a compass and a waterproof section with matches and fishing gear, maybe a serrated edge for cutting wood?

    my opinion is if you just need a blade you can never go wrong with a Ka-bar.

    there are so many different aspects that until you tell us what you really want we can't help too much.

    The Knife Accessory, Browning Automatic Rifle, is all you'll ever need. :big grin:

    what kind of knife exactly? like a general use type of camping knife or something to fit a specific purpose?

    I usually carry a Kershaw Leek for basic stuff (cutting rope, ect.) when camping and I also carry my Gerber Alpha Mini for cutting food and the like.

    Heres the Kershaw(not my pic):

    And the Gerber:

    I just want an all-purpose blade that won't break and hold it's edge well

    I have their Air Force Survival knife and I really like it. Feels really well built and hasn't let me down yet.

    Also, I think I got it for around $25.
