I just ordered my 15" Powerbook. :hsd:

I have a Targus backpack that I used with my previous laptop but I want something different. I don't mind the backpack style but I like the messenger style also. Any recommendations on a good laptop bag that isn't huge but still has decent storage? Preferably something that looks good but doesn't scream "There's a $2300 laptop in here!!" :hs:

    Edited for typos.

Oakley makes some killer bags, many of which have padde laptop compartments...

I have this one and love it (I actually carry two laptops, two power supplies, a mouse and miscellaneous other books and crap in it daily and couldn't be happier)...

I think I've narrowed it down to a Axio or Booq. But I'm still looking...

How much room is there in the Booq XM after putting in the laptop?

I got a really crappy one at best buy that was on sale. I can't say that i'm fully satisfied with it, but for $16 i shouldn't really complain.

Can you post any pics of you Booq with stuff in it? I'm just wondering what I can fit with the laptop in it.

I think I'm going to get the Boa XM or the BP3. Though I'd have to wait until September for the BP3.

It would fit well, my 15" pb is pretty snug so there would be plenty of room for a 12".

the laptop compartment on the icon 2.0 is well padded on five sides and has a velcro strap that goes over the opening on the top. it also has a side zipper for the laptop compartment that allows you to access your laptop without undoing all the straps on the main compartment (though they'er all quick release connecters, so it opens quickly anyhow).

i keep my PC laptop in the padded compartment and i have a padded sleeve for my powerbook, which goes in the main compartment. there are side zipper pouches on each side of the main compartment that are perfectly sized for holding a power supply in each one. when i travel, my airport express also fits in there with the power supply. once everything is in it's place, the three straps on the main compartment snug everything down nice and tight so the powerbook doesn't slide around inside. i love mine. the other guys on my team that have to lug around two machines begged our manager to get the company to buy one for them (but they didn't).

So I got my Booq XM and VyperM today. I'm really unhappy with it and I don't think I'm going to keep it.

It has plenty of room for books, notepads, school stuff, etc. But doesn't have enough room for what I'd like to carry in it. The VyperM is kinda rigid for a laptop sleeve. I thought it was going to be like a wetsuit for my powerbook but it isn't. Plus it looks like the zipper rubs the corners of the powerbook while zipping.

I want to be able to carry...
    15" Powerbook
    Power adapter
Few random cables (iPod, camera, network, etc)
Small spindle of blank DVDs and CDs.
    Sometimes my external drive enclosure
    mouse

well, you could have easily read the materials of the vyper and seen that it was foam and nylon.

look for neoprene sleeves, those are the wetsuit material ones.
