I drained my ipod's battery on the plane ride home and I'm trying to recharge it VIA the USB cable on my mom's macbook but the damn thing isn't even recognizing it. When I plug it in, the ipod will turn on only to show the apple logo then it show's the dead battery icon and shuts off. Any ideas as to what's wrong? [IMG]

crap, I don't have mine. All I have is whatever came with my mom's mini.

I tried hooking hers up to the macbook and it recognizes it and recharges fine :sad2:

If you've depleated it completely then it needs to be connected to the USB port for a few minutes. After that the icon shows up and is recognizable by the computer.

it happened to me, and I tried charging it up through the usb port of my keyboard, and a prompt came up that i need to charge it through a powered USB port. Charged it through my macbook and everything was gravy,
