As much as I love discussing gear, I'd like to just have a thread of pictures. These are not the most recent pictures I've taken, but they are the ones I've most recently retouched. In your personal opinion, do you feel that I'm over sharpening? They look great to me (except for one Osaka Night 5, there was glare from the window I was taking it out of but I still kind of like it anyway)

(oversharpened on purpose, I'm also aware of the blown out white in the background, I'm fine with it though)

WAY too sharp on the last one.

Even though you stated that yourself.

what good would a tilt lens do oon any of there? theres no distortion to correct for and they are almost all entirely in focus so changing the plane wouldn't be a benefit

gee thanks for your oponion again. as usual your head is up your ass. but thanks for stopping by

they're suppose to be achitectural dumbass. a wider lens would just shoe more background in a flower pic and possibly distort it, again not the intended purpose, and a wider lens is not neccessary for the landscapes.

seriously, do you have any clue what so ever about photography?

The only reason I really use borders is to set the picture off from whatever the background color is. People on OT have different color schemes, some with very dark backgrounds. For a night time picture with areas of near black on the edges I want to distinguish the picture from the background of the webpage in the same way you want to distinguish a picture with white edges from a white wall.

Black borders I tend to use only on night time or very low key pictures. Also, here's a picture I forgot. This was a rather boring picture but I kind of like the effect I got from photoshop.

(tip is a little out of focus, and overall it's a very dark picture... I still like the way it looks)

While the shot does nothing for me personally, the quoted text above is really all that matters. Too many people forget that.

Unless you're doing it professionally, becuase then it doesn't really matter fuck all about what YOU think. It's about what your intended market or client thinks.

Yeah, but actually, I really want to get into professional photography. My current strive is to create the highest quality images I can with the tools I have. I would have no problem doing commerical work for a company. I of course shoot for myself now. What I need to do is start doing more "photography challenges" where they assign a task / goal and you go out and attempt to.... (well you probably are already familiar with the DPreview challenges they do).
