Told my mom I didnt want much for christmas except for a couple of movies and this and that, so she gave me $125. The leftover money she was going to spend on me. So now Im looking for a bipod for my Remington 700 ADL

Scope is supposedly arriving in the mail shortly. Paid $198.30 shipped with $330 insurance for a Bushnell Elite 5-15X50mm scope and a sunshade.
Ive been looking around and it appears I got a helluva deal. Its new and got it off Ebay from a 0 feedback user. But if anything happens, Ill just call up my family in CA and theyll go over to that jokers address.

Anyways, Im looking for a bipod. I figure a 6"-9" is what I need if I want to shoot from a cardboard mat or something.

The 2 brands I see often are Harris and Rock Mount.
Was wondering what you guys think since you most probably have alot more experience.

Also, does Remmy sell screws to fill the holes in that are made when you remove the iron sights?

I also need help picking out a 2 piece rail and rings for the gun. I bought a Leupold see thru mount off ebay but Its just way too damn high. How the hell do I find out what I need to get so I can mount my scope as low as I can?

Help me out here guys. I dont really know shit about alot of optics :sadwavey:

to figure out what mounts you need got to bushnells website, get the measurements to the scope, and then go over to leupolds site, find a scope with similar measurements, and use their mount finder to get the right size.

    Mount Selector

The screws are probably 8-40s, most gun shops will probably have plugs, ask them.

I"ve heard that the rockmount is a harris copy, and it appears to be carbon copy. That said, i have a Harris, and i love it. If i had to do over again, the only thing I would change is to get the harris that has the preset stops when you extend the legs instead of having to tighten the wheel.

I went and bought a 6-9 Harris ultralight from Cabela's for 73.xx shipped

As for the mounts I think Im going to try a Leupold QRW 700 2 piece mount and QRW 1" high matte rings.

If Im wrong I can always resell the rings or whatever and take a hit
The rings sure are expensive though :o

I wouldn't get the QR rings, you really don't need to quickly remove your scope on a rifle :dunno:

I'd imagine you could get away with a set of the standard mounts and high rings :dunno:

I dont like the way they look :o

I guess I can just use a PRW ring on a qrw mount. Might save $20 or so
