For my Marlin 60 SB.. The scope that came with it is 4x20... and I really have no idea what that number means. Seems to magnify about double at 50 yards. That sound right?

Anyway, looking to get a better scope for less than $50 maybe :hsd:

  3. If it's 4x20 it means it's 4x magnification and a 20mm objective lens.

  6. I have a BSA scope that I used to use on my 10/22. It's fine for what it is.

If you are going cheap, I'd go for a simple fixed 4/6x, without any "features" like a adjustable AO, lit reticle, etc. It's been my experience that staying away from all that extra shit is a decent way to bolster reliability.
