So I got the software to connect it to my Windows XP laptop, however I hate that you can not see what your taking a picture of without, taking the picture or lookin through the view finder.

Any suggestions on how I can get it to show real time what the shot will look like, kind of like looking at it on an LCD, only it'll be on my laptop.

I plan on taking pictures with the camera, when the camera will be out of reach. I want to be able to see when the best time to actually snap the shot will be, instead of guestimating.

Basically, I'm going to get a suctioncup pod to mount the camera on, mount it on the side of my car and take some picture from different angles, while the car is moving.

Granted I know I could just set the camera up where I need it, then just take the shot, using trial and error to get it right, but it would be so much easier to be able to see the wheel placement and other stuff live, so I know when to snap the shot.

If you ask this question, you might not understand how an SLR works.

your slr would have to snap away and transfer every picture to your pc as it goes..

    try a webcam instead.

You could maybe n rig a webcam to the viewfinder and watch that on the laptop screen.
