Now I'm debating whether or not to just spring for the full MBP. Should I still wait?

In all honesty, Santa Rosa isn't going to give you all that much. The MB/MBP already have 802.11n and the Core2Duo. The FSB bump would be nice and the power saving might give you an extra 30min, but I think that's really about it.

Oh, and I've played WoW on the "new" X3000 graphics on the Santa Rosa, it's still f'n slow, but it could be the drivers at this point.

Nothing earth-shattering at all there for me. I'm not a gamer at all. We'll see what's up in 1.5 years, when I usually end up getting a new laptop.

the enhancements don't look all that necessary, at least for me. the extra battery life is always a plus but since I needed one now, im not crying over my decision. Go Pro or go home!

I don't see how they will get extra battery life out of it when they are going to be raising the FSB speed. In fact the only battery saving technology that I see in Santa Rosa is the inclusion of the Robson technology, to which Apple may not use.

Well if you use all Intel components, the new Intel 4965 wireless is supposed to be a sippy cup of a wireless card, so that helps. The graphics are much better at power management, the north and south bridges can shut off sections of themselves that help battery life. The processors have more agressive power saving states.

Plus there is other ways to save power, like powering down internal speaker amplifiers, putting the audio codec into a low power state, spinning down the HDD, etc.

Just think, instead of waiting, you could be enjoying Apple-ness RIGHT NOW!

i definatley dont regret getting a MB instead of a MBP. I regret that apple doesnt make a smaller MBP.
