My boss and co-worker just got back from the huge ATK conference. They claimed to have just spent over 10 million on new production equipment to catch up on their backorders. Supposedly ammo buyers should start seeing relief in the next couple of months.

Take it for what it's worth.

How long does that take for the benefits to trickle down to the consumer?

I would be super surprised if there was any change in the ammunition situation before the end of the year.

The problem with this whole thing is the almost total inelasticity of the supply chain. For the most part, ammunition demand is predictable, which is why all this recent panic buying has caused such a problem.
