My company is closing and one of the guys is taking an old Dell desktop that uses RDRAM. He asked me to find him some ram for it online.

    2GB (4x512) PC800-45 RDRAM - $419.95

Yeah, it's expensive shit, but it works really well. I built an audio recording computer for my dad years ago, and the 1066MHz RDRAM in it could out-benchmark any DDRAM I tested up until about a year ago. The only real problem it has for modern applications is it's designed to stream data very fast in very small chunks, whereas modern DDRAM can stream data very fast in large chunks.

Sorry to hear your company is shutting down. What did they do, and why are they closing?

Yeah RAMBUS has always been a bit of a joke price wise.

It's alright... The guys last day was today and he is already gone. I just intended to give him some links to where he could buy it for himself until I saw how much it was.

I'm the Network Administrator at an injection molding company. We are closing due to lack of business. Our biggest customer (90% of our work) moved their work to someone else a few months back. The little bit of work we have left isn't enough to keep in business.

The company has been in business 64 years.

The good news is that I have an interview with a computer consulting company next week.
