so, I just got around to getting a roll of TMAX that I shot on my RB67 when my son was just 10 days old (so 5+ months ago) developed. I thought it would be interesting to compare a shot from my 10D from the same shoot. I picked to similar images, converted the 10D shot to B&W. no editing other than some cropping, and a little cloning to remove dust spots, and a bit of his nutsack sticking out behind him.

it's hard to tell from a resized version, but the mamiya wins hands down. But I like the color on the 10D version better... i think I'm going to switch B&W film to ilford... I don't like the purpleish tones I get with the TMAX (could that be the labs fault?)

sorry.. uploader.ws is moving at a snails pace lately, and I didn't feel like uping this to my site.

It amazes me that you are the mod of A&P and you use uploader.ws

Seriously...do you not have your own host?

Maybe I can't tell because of the resize, but the Canon one looks just fine to me. Different, but not any worse.

I think i prefer the Canon image. More tonal range in there.

As far as switching to Ilford, my dad used only that when he was into film photography. He swore by it.

    yeah, it's no contest here.

based on the pics you posted, canon > mamiya
