I'm trying to up my protein intake, while limiting over all calories. a mid day shake seems like my best option, and with egg whites having about 2 calories per gram protein compared to 4 calories/gram for protein powder, it seemed like a better option.

but then I read that raw eggs have a protein that results in a deficiency of biotin (whatever that is)
but cooking the egg destroys lots of proteins (including the one that results in biotin deficiency)

so it seems you can't win with egg whites...

Eggwhites International is cheaper than eggology and exactly the same thing. I just ordered 2 half gallons and a pump for $54. I put 2-3 pumps in my cereal, add 4-6 to my PWO shakes. Can't taste a damn thing except shake. It's super easy protein to get. Only 100 calories per cup IIRC.

Nice. There are quite a few store around here that carry those. I'm going to check out the prices.

Those egg whites cartons that are posted a few posts up are nice, but each little container is like three bucks. I'll use a few of those a week.

Really, don't worry about it. Don't worry about destroying proteins, because that is what your body does anyway.

yeah but you gotta use them shits within 7 days of being opened.

eggology/egg whites international keeps for months. my problem is I get lazy as hell when it comes to cooking eggs but I'm about to just buy a shitload of whites so I can add them to anything

    I just drink one a day. 64g a pop.

Yeah, shelf life is a concern for me for milk. That's why I get Horizon Chocolate Milk boxes and bring one to the gym for post.

That is the downside. But, if you have some eggs in the morning, and throw half a cup or so in a shake, you go through them pretty quick. And though theya re pricier than the bulk stuff, they are convenient as shit.

Serously, the pump thing for EWI is awesome. They ship to you and they are half frozen. Freeze what you can and chill the rest. 8 pumps is 1 full cup. You can add this to just about anything. 1 cup is 26g protein. Supposed to be more bio available than anything else but I haven't read anything specific.

I tossed around a long time before I bought them because of the price aspect and decided my time was worth it plus the time frame they last is awesome. I have a feeling that my next order will be the gallons cause when you add it to every liquid it can go quick.

So you guys just pour egg whites into random stuff to up the protein content?

I find egg whites to be too expensive for this. It's more than whey.

The only place I've found decently priced egg whites is Costco, but they add garlic salt, paprika, and stuff to season theirs and it tastes like Frank Dux's butthole.
