I used to snack on them in kindergarten. Popped a hole at the top and bottom.

not really dangerous, the cases of salmonella coming from eggs are rare, and they're typically in old people, kids, or others with weakened immune systems.

However, i cant imagine it tastes good in any way

I use to do it. Mix in the egg whites with milk and add whey... then I got sick down flu/salmonella symptoms. Shit sucked and i haven't done it since. Not sure if it was because of the eggs though :dunno:

Careful the number of eggs whites you consume. As egg whites contain Avidin which blocks the absorption of Vitamin B6, you can develop a vitamin deficiency. Also I'm sure the human body isn't able to fully digest RAW egg white fully anyways.

Is there any real reason why people don't consume yolks? I mean, they do have a fat content but it is minimal.

Multiply that by 20+ egg yolks and the fat adds up quickly. I prefer to add my own fats from peanut butter or olive oil.

Anyone here add whole eggs to your protein shakes?

What does it do to the consistency and what does it taste like?

    THX.

get the pasteurized egg whites in the carton to avoid the Avidin & salmonella issues & higher bioavailability

Sorry to resurrect this, but to be clear, the only bad side to including the whole egg is the fat content of the yolk? I've been doing 4 egg whites on my shake every morning and I've been thinking of adding a yolk to the mix. Aside from the fat content, there is no extra reason to not include the yolk?

    Still tastes fine to me

    My breakfast consists of:

    4 egg whites
    2 whole eggs
2 scoops ON whey (extreme milk choco)
    1/2 cup oats
    3/4 cup 1%

    All blended up

Doesn't bother me at all and it tastes....oat chocolatey? Try it out

    10-12 egg whites = 36-43 grams of protein. One $2 carton = 50 grams 100% bio-available protein.

doesn't taste any different honestly. You can even drop in the yolk and the flavor is pretty much the same. I put whey, egg whites, and milk.
