The deal is pretty good. It looks clean. But it still can't beat the deal my friend got on his. $300. lol. It's in decent condition but the taps were stripped for the spark plugs on the stock KA. He's swapping a VQ35 with a 6-speed that he got for $1000 in it
hmm, i was thinking red top SR20 in the future, what advantage does the VQ35 have? and where the FUCK did he get it that cheap?
Well VQ35s are good N/A and have gobs of torque. IIRC people with VQ35 swapped S13s are running in the 12s with a decent tune. An SR20 is definitely not a bad option, but a VQ35 would be cheaper.
He got the deal on Ebay, and it came on 3 pallets shipped to his house with engine, tranny, full exhaust (lol), 350z tail lights, radio, and all sorts of other random shit. lol it was funny as hell. The engine looks brand new. Normally they run for around $2k for a RWD block and like $600 for a FWD one, which some 240 people are using.

lol yes, and they look fucking HUGE off the car. he's probably gonna sell them on ebay or something because the only friend we have with a 350z has an '06+ with the LED tail lights and these are just the regular reflector style ones. Shipping for all of it was about $350, becuase he had it shipped to his house. To a terminal would have been considerably less expensive.

they go for cheap in Texas, and so do 2jz's

Are the subframe bushings shot yet? S14's are notorious for that
im gettin the bushings checked, rumour has it nissan does a free 27 point inspection, but that would be the first thing i fix, followed by giving myself some decent audio, then exhaust (probably buddy club spec or somethin similar)
i got mine for $100 from a friend with a blown KA... $8k in parts(overnighted from japan of course) later its still a nice yard ornament.
what did you do with the drift pig?
Oh still got it! Its been sitting stripped since October due to rod knock.
I bought another SR just for Drift Show Off since my built block wasn't ready and slapped it together in a week.(i know, it looks like it)
VQ35 is far from a "cheap" swap. Biggest hang ups I have seen are the mounts, the fact that the throttle body is drive by wire, and the wiring mess you will have no matter what.
SR20 is tried and true and been done a million times with tons of documentation on the net. VQ swaps are pretty new and you will see a ton of down time as you research and fabricate how to get this swap in your car.
If i was going to buy an SR20, I would try and buy as new of one as i possibly could (S14 most likely). You pay a premium for the S15 SR, and your speedo will not work with that transmission (speed sensor is in the rear diff of the S15). The engines are old, beaten on and almost guaranteed not to be 35k miles like places advertise. Get a newer one or expect some problems.

I know, I had to pull the rear a lil more to fit the Equips. I have overfenders, just couldn't get them on in time. Most of the rims are really low offset or negative.
I still have lots to do on the car, cage, painless, paint, fenders, etc
I wanted some Equips for a long time, it was a plush they were polished, thanks to good ol' Shundi
Deal is decent at best bro. I got my 95 shell with 80k for $1500 in an area where they are in high demand. That's every single thing but the motor and tranny. Im swapping it anyway so that's what I was looking for, I have a DD.

yeah I'm gonna go with decent aswell. Shouldn't have had to pay that much, especially for one with that many miles.
overall im VERT satisfied, clutch is solid, engine feels very nice, everything in the car works, cruise control, AC, power windows, etc. i put in new spark plugs, headlights, fuel filter, speakers (had to retrofit them a bit), stereo, ive got a 3" apexi N1 exhaust en route via fedex, an injen cold air intake ill pick up in a few days, and currently looking for some new wheels and tires
btw, i had only cleaned the driver side headlight in that first pic, it was a before/after shot of the "blue coral lens cleaner" app

i think when and if i do a swap, it will be something with some more power than an sr

one of my good friends and fellow OT member dan has a broken dsm right now, he spun a rod bearing and fucked his engine, he bought a relatively new one for ~300 dollars from a shop around here though, hopefully that thing gets put back together, he had alot of time and money put into it
he bought a 1k s13 to drive in the meantime
