I'm relatvely new to firearms. This is the first rifle that I own, and have bought myself.

    Ruger 10/22
    10rnd mag
    25rnd mag
    scope mount
    6 position stock
    extra stock

    Out of the box:

With front rail cover off and TLR1 on:

    Now for the questions:

This came with it, and I know that this is considered the extra stock. I like the angle of this one better, but can't figure out how to get the shoulder rest off of the other stock. Can anyone tell me how to do this? I've looked at it, and can't figure out how to get the position pin out in order to do the swap.

What is a good ($50 or under) scope or sight that I could put on this.

The Ruger manual said that it was fine to dry fire this rifle. I have always been told NEVER dry fire a rim fire weapon. What is your advice?

How good of a deal, if any, did I get? It was $310 OTD.

I didnt want to be the first to say it.

A 10/22 brand new is around $200, would have been better off with that.

    haha, IBugly

Don't realy care your opinions on its looks.
Would appreciate some answers on the questions though.
Just thought it would be fun to pick up a 'scary black rifle' even if it is a .22

The light is alreay off it, and the cover is back on.
I just took it off my Glock for shits and giggles.

    1) that's not a scary black rifle

Sometimes I feel like my 10/22 is too tacti-cool but then I see a rifle like yours and realize how tame mine really is.

You asked us to rate it, 100% of the responses so far are negative. I'd say you do care.

To all the ANTIs in my family, this .22 is going to be scary as shit.

Really though, it is just going to be a range plinker.

True, I did ask everyone to rate my purchase. Guess I should have added qualifiers to that statement.
    Looks:
    Value:
    Quality:

I'm guessing I will see something like this:
    Looks: FAIL
    Value: FAIL
    Quality: It's a ruger.

to slide the buttplate off you have to pull the lock down and slide it off. Usually you have to press on the lock to adjust the lenght, to pull the butt plate off you kind of have to do the opposite. You pull it out. Hope this makes sense.

Sorry your going to get junked for the 10/22. It is all kinds of wacky.

Thanks Yar. Exactly what I needed for the buttplate.

Now anyone have any recommendations for a $50ish scope or sights? Red dot maybe?

How about the whole dry fire thing?
