5'9 141 lbs., trying to cut. yeah i'm another one of those :wavey: my daily macronutrient caps/goals are pcf 210/112/70 or 54/29/17 in percent, spread over 1300 - 1800 cals; i've mostly been doing a 180g/<100g/<30g. is this alright :o or does it still need some tweaking?

I guess I forgot to mention I only want to drop until 137 before I attempt a clean bulk?

    Seriously though:
My 110lb girlfriend eats more than 1300 calories a day.. that is totally rubbish and is probably hindering your efforts.

30g of fat a day is too low

From looking at the picture of you (and I'm not trying to be offensive here, sorry) but it's clear that you have very little muscle. To be honest, cutting only looks good on people who have muscle underneath the fat. If you cut now, I'm not sure what you expect to find - the others are right, you'll just turn super skinny and we'll be able to count all of your ribs. Is that REALLY what you want?

You don't have to turn huge.. most of us have been working for YEARS and aren't huge yet. It doesn't happen overnight or by accident.

If I were you and wanted to stay small I'd put on some muscle up to about 160lbs, then cut back to a much leaner 140. You'd be at the same weight you are now, but you'd have *some* muscle to show for it. Since you're brand new to the game, you get "newbie gains" where you can add a lot of muscle pretty quickly.

    Anyway, just a suggestion.

I only want to drop 'til 137 at most because I want to drop to a lower weight bracket for martial arts. I don't think that's too much of a drop, is it?

So how much fat should I have then? I can't do a low carb/ low fat diet at the same time?

i've dropped from 148. the point of this thread was to rate my macros, and went off on a tangent from there :dunno: so far all i've heard is how skinny i am and that i should bulk.

if it's for martial arts.. just increase your conditioning..... no one is trying to diss on you but most of the things they're saying is true. my girlfriend literally eats around 1700/day.. at ~110

also, 5lbs. isn't much of a cut. trying to go from 145 to 140 is too hard to tell because a lot of that is water. one day I will weigh say 200lbs. and then the next will be 195 or 205.. really hard to tell for such a small amount dude. for something that small, I wouldn't even diet.. just seriously increase conditioning/do extra cardio.

It's not just five pounds. I'm coming down from 148 and right now i'm at a standstill :/

I saw a thread where a guy had lost two pounds but looked infinitely better. that's pretty much my goal: to lose fat but look better while doing it. time isn't so much of an issue. besides, i'm trying to lose fat not weight right :o. that's harder to do. if i stay at the same weight but replace fat with lean muscle then that's cool too

also, no one has critiqued my macros. which was the point of this thread

no... the point of the thread is that no matter what your macros are, you're never going to be impressed with your physique, so cutting at this point is probably a waste of not only time, but possibly some of the little muscle you have left. Just gain some weight, work out hard, eat hard, shoot for 1 lb/wk or so. Don't stop for say 4 months and 16 lbs, see what you think then.

Seriously. None of this 1000 calorie bullshit.
